Menswear Spring/Summer 2012 - Friday June 24

Day Six - Paris

Yves Saint Laurent
The Yves Saint Laurent collection by Stefano Pilati has also taken on a safari theme – similar to Louis Vuitton. The perfectly-cut tailored shorts, lace-up lightweight tops and trousers in khaki and taupe hues were styled with snakeskin loafers and belts.
YSL shows are always exciting as Stefano Pilati tends to experiment. As Stefano began the show with refined-shouldered tailoring in navy, white and khaki; Pilati also played with military-style jackets, double-breasted coats and funnel-necked shirts. The minimalist style evoked an officer in the military look. Even thought the safari jackets have appeared before this season Pilati made sure the iconic YSL style was still evident with pieces of lacework.

Last but certainly not least Yves Saint Laurent did not disappoint the Parisian crowds; neither did they disappoint an Adelaidian fashionista. Quality in design is clear in Pilati’s collection, even his own snakeskin pants are perfection. BEYOND PERFFECT finale for Paris Fashion Week.

Au revoir to Paris and au revoir to Fashion Week...

xoxo
